Attempt concerning effort substitution fertilizer with compost of Kronobio to increase nutrient uptake have been conducted at Sungai Lansek, Kecamatan Kamang Baru, Kabupaten Sijunjung West Sumatra at May 2009 till October 2009. Attempt of research aimed to get the number of fertilizer in which can be replaced by Kronobio to increase nutrient uptake and yield of maize. The treatment arranged at random design block (RDB) consist of 5 treatments and 3 blocks. Treatment covered compost application of Kronobio to replace fertilizer which consist of 5 treatments namely: A. 100% fertilizer ( measuring according to recommendation) ; B. 25% Compost of Kronobio + 75% fertilizer; C. 50% Compost of Kronobio + 50% fertilizer ; D. 75% Compost of Kronobio + 25% fertilizer; E. 100% Compost of Kronobio equivalent ( 8,3 t ha-1 + without fertilizer. Data analized with test of F after trust 95%. If treatment have an effect on reality hence tested to be continued with real BNJ level 5%. Parameter perceived for example; N, P and K as nutrient uptake by crop, length of cob without and covered, number of seed per cob, weight of cob without and covered, weight 100 seed, weigth of dry seed of maize water content 14%. Result of attempt proved that N, P and K uptake by crop and also result of dry seed yield of maize highest reach 7,78 ton ha-1 of treatment replace 75% fertilizer with Compost of Kronobio.
