Abstract

One of the success measurements of husbandry field is the outcome products. If it is husbandry of male duck then the measurement variable is carcass percentage that comes out from all the duck population. The high percentage of carcass refers to favorable outcome and it is occurs on the contrary. This research has purpose to compare the economic value of male local duck as a livestock broiler that execute at the age of 8 and 12 weeks. This research study 100 of male duck from Pitalah and Bayang which is care for until the age of 12 weeks. The study use twenty percents of male duck as a sample for carcass percentage analysist at the age of 8 weeks as well as the age of 12 weeks. The result showed that Pitalah duck at the age of 8 weeks body weight (1355.06 g) is heavier than Bayang duck (1316.51 g), but the carcass percentage of Bayang duck (62.79%) is higher that Pitalah duck (62.64%). Pitalah duck at the age of 12 weeks body weight (1466.46 g) is heavier than Bayang duck (1410.62 g), as well as the carcass percentage of Pitalah duck (64.91%) is higher than Bayang duck (64.09%). The income over feed and duck of duck at the age of 8 weeks is more profitable than at the age of 12 weeks with the decreasing of IOFD 68% on Pitalah duck and 78% on Bayang duck. Pitalah duck have higher economic value than Bayang duck as a broiler.
