Abstract

Embroidered gold thread embroidery is a native of West Sumatra and Indonesian cultural heritage that is almost extinct due to human resources which makes old and little, how regeneration gold thread embroidery artisans next future? The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of motivation gold thread embroidery artisans to train in the city of Padang. The population in this study are all gold thread embroidery craftsmen training from the Department of Trade Industry Mines and Energy of Padang in 2014. The number of samples in this study were 30 respondents, using sampling techniques with saturated sampling. To prove motivation may affect training the author uses descriptive quantitative analysis techniques using statistical hypothesis testing. Stages of the author testing includes regression testing, test t-statistic and the coefficient of determination (R2). Based on the findings, it seemed that the motivation significant effect on training, t-test, produce 5,591 t-count value, where the value is greater than t-table 1.699, and the value of significant value significantly smaller than the 0.00 level of significant (ɑ) 0.05 it can be concluded that the hypothesis (Ha) which reads motivation (X1) significantly affects the training (Y), so the first hypothesis (H1) is accepted. The coefficient of determination is 0.519, meaning gold thread embroidery artisans motivation affect the training organized by the government of Padang of 51.9%, the remaining 48.1% is influenced by other variables outside of this study.
